A shocking video showing a man being pushed off his bike and falling into a ditch on a road in Derry has gone viral on social media.

The dangerous incident shows a man leaning out of a car and pushing the cyclist violently into the ditch on the road from Derry to Donegal.

An official complaint has been made to the PSNI and Gardai are now also investigating the incident.

The incident was put up on Facebook and after receiving almost one million views, it was pulled from social media.

The name of the man who posted the video was also clear.

A PSNI spokeswoman confirmed a cyclist has made a complaint to them but confirmed that he was not seriously injured.

“On Monday afternoon PSNI received a report of an incident similar to that depicted in the video.

“The reporting person states that on Friday 24th at about 12.30pm he was pushed from his bicycle by a passenger in a passing car on the Ballyarnett Road in Derry.

“The car is believed to have driven on towards Muff, Co Donegal.”

The cyclist reported the incident to Strand Road police station, but did not report any injuries.

The disgusting incident happened on Friday last at around 12.30pm.

A man can be heard laughing after he pushes the cyclist off his bike.

The side of the man’s face who pushed the cyclist can be seen.

It is understood that Gardai in Donegal are now viewing this footage to see if it can identify those behind the sickening attack.
