They might be too young to remember Star Trek or Mork and Mindy for that matter.

But hundreds of children are taking part in space Camp which is taking place in the Tower Museum Derry, organised in partnership with Stem Aware as part of Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Scinnovate programme.

The work of one budding young astronaut at the camp, Maggie Delaney, caught the attention of none other than former Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.

The first Canadian to walk in space, Hadfield captured the imagination of the world with his quirky updates of life on board the International Space Station and his spectacular pictures of the earth from space.

He tweeted that Maggie’s Space Camp picture of Pluto ‘inspired him’, after her proud mum posted her drawing on Twitter during the week.

Way to go Maggie!
