DETECTIVES at Strand Road in Derry are appealing for information about an incident in which two men were assaulted and sustained knife wounds in the Waterside area of the city last night.
Detective Sergeant Reid, the instigating officer, said shortly after 8.30pm, police received a report that two men had been assaulted at Termon Street. One man aged 25 sustained knife cuts to his hand, while a second, aged 37, sustained cuts to his neck. None of the wounds is thought to be life threatening.
A man aged 30 was subsequently arrested on suspicion of GBH, while a woman aged 23 was arrested for assisting an offender. Both were later released pending further enquiries.
