James McClean joins the Baggies in a £1.5 million transfer

WEST Brom have agreed a fee of around £1.5 million with Wigan and for former Derry City winger James McClean.

The Republic of Ireland international has scored 11 goals 87 appearances for the Latics.

He was voted player of the year last season as they were relegated to League One.

The 26-year-old started out his playing career at Institute before being snapped up by Derry City.

He moved in a £250,000 deal to Sunderland in August 2011, before joining Wigan in August 2013.

McClean played for the Northern Ireland under 21 team before switching his allegiance to the Republic.

The Baggies expect the McClean deal to go through on Monday.
