Sinn Fein MLA Raymond McCartney condemns bomb attack on republican family

SINN Fein in Derry have come in support of party colleagues facing down threats and bomb attacks from violent dissident republican groups.

It follows an attack in south Armagh earlier today on a Sinn Fein supporter.

The man was removing a poster near his home when a booby trap style device was detonated.

He took the full force of the blast in his chest and face and is now undergoing emergency surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Sinn Fein in the area blamed the attack on “criminals masquerading as republicans”.

Derry Sinn Fein MLA Raymond McCartney tweeted tonight: “Solidarity to the Republican family of South Armagh.

“You remain unbowed and unbroken.

“Criminals never stopped you before and wont now!”
