Former Derry City star Paddy McCourt has signed for Notts County on loan for the remainder of the season. images (48)

McCourt has found it difficult to nail down a regular starting place at Brighton and Hove Albion and has grown frustrated at his lack of game time.

Management staff at Brighton and McCourt agreed a loan move could well be mutually beneficial for both parties.

McCourt joins up with fellow Northern Ireland international player Roy Carroll at Notts County.

Notts County manager Shaun Derry is a massive fan of the sensational talent that is McCourt and was keen to get him to Meadow Lane.

McCourt played just thirteen time for Brighton and believes he needs to be playing regularly in order for him to get back in the starting XI for Northern Ireland.

They have crucial encounters coming up next month, and McCourt will be hoping his loan move will boost his chances of playing.
