derry daily logoSICK thieves have robbed the home of an elderly Derry man who is suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease.

The victim lives in the Waterside – we are not giving his exact address.

It’s understood a substantial amount of cash was taken in the raid.

The victim is described as ‘extremely vulnerable’.

Friends of the victim say his family has been left distraught by the break-in.

“They couldn’t have picked on someone more vulnerable,” said one local resident.

“Breaking into someone’s home is horrible; so bad for someone who is elderly and worried anyway.

“But breaking into someone’s home who has this conditions is just beyond evil.”

It’s the latest in a series of burglaries across the city.
