POLICE SEEK OWNERS OF STOLEN ITEMS SEIZED DURING BALLYARNET CAR THEFTS

psni logoPolice at Strand Road are in possession of items seized during the arrest of a man.

Officers arrested the man on Thursday morning, 5th, in the area of Ballyarnet Village in possession of suspected stolen items from vehicles in the local vicinity of Ballyarnet Village, Oakbridge and outlying areas.

Police are trying to identify any possible victims and possible owners of the following items:

BLACK LG MOBILE PHONE,

RED GLOVES WITH FOOTBALLS ON THEM

BLUE VELVET FEMALE GLOVE

Detective Inspector David McQuade added: “Police checked the area of Ballyarnet Village and located over 10 vehicles that were unlocked  At  least five of these vehicles had been entered and searched.

“We are asking that local residents lock their vehicle at all times to help prevent this type of incident re-occurring.   Anyone who observed two males searching vehicles is asked to contact police.”

A second male made off from the officers.  He is described  as approximately 6 foot in height, of a slim build, wearing a dark padded 3/4 length jacket and a woollen beanie hat, possibly grey in colour. This male was described as having a distinctive walk.
