Sinn Féin Foyle MLA Raymond McCartney has welcomed the news that the families of those murdered on Bloody Sunday and legal teams met with the PSNI team leading a new murder investigation into the massacre.

Raymond McCartney said “It was important that this meeting with the relatives, their legal representatives and the PSNI team leading the new investigation into the massacre took place.

“Sinn Féin supported the families’ call that this investigation be properly resourced to ensure the relatives get access to justice.

“This will help engender public confidence in the investigation.

“We will continue to support the Bloody Sunday families in their campaign for truth and justice.

“I want to commend the families for their resolute and dignified approach.”
