IT’S BACK! GIANT POTHOLE RETURNS – AND WRECKS CARS!

pothole KilleaA GIANT pothole which caused damage to dozens of cars in Derry has re-appeared today.

Repair on the trench on the Letterkenny Road, close to Killea, had been carried out over Christmas after dozens of complaints.

One motorist lost two wheels after hitting the pothole whilst numerous other vehicles were also damaged.

However after torrential downpours over the past 72 hours, gravel used to fill the pothole has been washed away.

“It’s as bad as ever,” complained Derry Daily reader Trisha McDaid.

“We were just getting used to driving normally there again and it’s back again, worse than ever.

“I would urge everyone to drive with extreme caution there until it’s fixed again; and hopefully the next time a proper resurfacing of that road will take place otherwise we’ll be at this non-stop.”

A number of motorists have claimed they have damaged their cars again since yesterday.

Readers have also complained about a pothole close to the roundabout at John Street, on the Buncrana Road and another one on the Rock Road in the city.
