SECURITY ALERT IN CO DERRY TOWN OVER SUSPICIOUS OBJECT

POLICE have called in Army Technical Officers to the scene of a security alert in Magherafelt, Co Derry.

It follows the discovery of a suspicious object at Derramore Park in the town.

As a result, Derramore Park has been closed between Derramore Court and Derramore Gardens.

A number of people have been moved from their houses in Derramore Park and Derramore Drive.

The PSNI say The Meadowbank Sports Arena has been made available for residents.
