psni logoPSNI officers are hunting a pervert who groped a teenage girl as she was going home on a bus.

Officers say the man – in his 60s – repeatedly touched the teenager as she made her way home to Newbuildings.

He also made a number of disgusting foul-mouthed remarks to her.

The bus was travelling to Newbuildings from Foyle Street bus station last Tuesday, but details have just been released.

“It was reported that at around 5.15pm on Tuesday 23rd December, a man sat beside a teenage girl on the bus and touched her several times and made suggestive remarks to her,” said a PSNI Constable Ciaran Connolly.

“The man was described as being over 60 years old, was wearing a navy coloured coat and was carrying a white shopping bag.”

Constable Connolly has appealed for anyone with any information about this incident to contact officers in Strand Road on 101.

Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
