NEW SEASON OF EVENTS ANNOUNCED FOR MILLENNIUM FORUM

Sharon Shannon, Mary Coughlan, Frances Black, The Wolfe Tones and Nathan Carter are just a few of the acts announced for the new programme of events from January to April next at Derry’s Millennium Forum.

Also confirmed to play at Derry’s premier theatre at the multi-platinum Celtic artists, The High Kings, Sandi Thom and renowned Irish troubadour Tommy Fleming who will arrive from accompanying international star Elaine Paige on tour.

Comedy plays a big part in the Forum’s programme twith a number of well-known comedians from television, including Jake O’Kane, from BBC’s “The Blame Game” in January; Tommy Tiernan in February and Neil Delamere, who is currently receiving acclaim internationally, in March.

A favourite with Derry audiences, Dara O’Briain,  also returns for three nights in April.

There’s dance with the electrifying Irish dance show, Titanicdance in February which received three standing ovations at its world premiere in Belfast’s Odyssey Arena earlier this year.

There is comedy drama with Conal Gallen’s “A Bit on the Side” in January, followed by Leesa Harker’s Dirty Dancin in Le Shebeen.

The stage version of James Joyce’s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Manmakes its Forum debut in February, brought to the city by The New Theatre, Dublin.

GBL Productions launch a new production, Baby It’s Cold Outside in March, while Irene Melaugh’s play, Me Da’s Suit, makes a welcome return.

Looking ahead, the worldwide smash hit musical, Mamma Mia! visits the North West’s premier venue from 7-11 July which has already opened for booking and is selling exceptionally well.
