Sealed off: The former Top service station in Killea.

A disused filling station in the border village of Killea remained sealed off overnight following a fire early yesterday evening.

Fire crews were called to deal with what was believed to be a small blaze which broke out on the upper floor of the former Top service station, situated on the Donegal side of the “old” Derry to Letterkenny road.

Gardai, understood to be keeping an open mind to the cause, have launched an investigation into how the fire started.

The former filling station has been closed for some time.
