The late Kellyanne Teggart.

The young woman found with fatal injuries in a flat in Derry’s Creggan estate in the early hours of yesterday has been named locally as Kellyanne Teggart from Portaferry in Co. Down.

The 19-year-old, who was a nursing student at the Magee campus of the University of Ulster in the city, was found unconscious at the bottom of a flight of stairs at a flat in Cromore Gardens around at 2.30am.

She died later in Altnagelvin Hospital.

A postem mortem is to carried out today to determine the cause of her death.

A 21-year-old man arrested in connection with the death continues to be questioned by police at the PSNI’s serious crime suite at Antrim Police Station.
