Residents in the Ballyarnett electoral area of Derry have been called on to be vigilant by SDLP Cllr Angela Dobbins.

The call comes from SDLP Cllr Angela Dobbins after another house break-in and theft of a car as well as an arson attack over the weekend.

Cllr Dobbins said: “ Another residence in the Woodbrook area has been burgled and the family car stolen.

“This, along with the arson attack on a car in Sandale Parkis another incident to add to a catalogue of anti-social activity involving the destruction and damage to cars in recent weeks.

“These incidents are not confined to any specific area, they have occurred throughout the Balluyarnett District area.

“I am asking all communities to be more vigilant, especially during these holiday periods when their neighbours are not at home, and to report any suspicious activity to PSNI.”

Cllr Dobbins added: “Crimes like these are definitely on the rise and those involved are intent in doing as much damage as possible. They are oblivious of the hardship and devastation they cause to their victims.”
