THE WAIT IS OVER: FOYLE CUP KICKS OFF TODAY

This year’s Hughes Insurance Foyle Cup kicks off today with games taking place throughout the North West.

Throughout the week, over 220 teams – the competition’s biggest ever entry – will compete at under-10, under-11, under-12, under-13, under-15, under-17, under-19 and ladies categories at venues in Derry, Strabane, Limavady, Dungiven, Eglinton, Greysteel, Killea, St Johnstone, Buncrana, Cockhill, Moville, Greencastle and Burt.hughesinsurance

Meanwhile, the teams, coaches and supporters will take part in the Foyle Cup Parade through Derry city centre tomorrow morning.

The parade will leave Ebrington Square in the Waterside at 11.00am and make its way to Guildhall Square where it is expected to arrive at around 11.35am.

The first of today’s games kick-off at noon with the final fixtures taking place at 7.00pm.

Under-10

12:00 noon – Oxford Colts v Glentoran Colts (St Columb’s Park, A); Coleraine FC v Dungannon United Youth (St Columb’s Park, B); Bright Stars v Shankill Juniors (Leafair, A); Roe Valley FC v Lifford Celtic (Leafair, B); Culmore v St Oliver Plunkett Colts (Magee, B); Clonmany Shamrocks v Bertie Peacock Youths (Magee A).

12:45pm – Kildrum Tigers v Maiden City Colts (St Columb’s Park, A); Glentoran Colts v Coleraine FC (St Columb’s Park, B); Kilmacrennan Celtic v Corinthians FC (Leafair, A); Shankill Juniors v Roe Valley FC (Leafair, B); North End United v East Donegal Colts (Magee, A); St Oliver Plunkett Colts v North End United (Magee, B).

1:30pm – Maiden City Colts v Oxford Colts (St Columbs Park, B); Dungannon United Youth v Kildrum Tigers (St Columb’s Park, A); Corinthians FC v Bright Stars (Leafair, B); Lifford Celtic v Kilmacrennan Celtic (Leafair, A); Bertie Peacock Youths v Culmore (Magee, A); East Donegal Colts v Clonmany Shamrocks (Magee, B).
