Former Institute goalkeeper Nathan Gartside has made his debut for SkyBet Championship side Watford.
The former Lisneal College pupil came on for Heurelho Gomes, formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, in the 79th minute of London side’s friendly with SK Austria Klagenfurt in Austria at the weekend.
Watford won the game against the Carinthian capital side, who currently play in the Austrian Regional League Central, with a solitary goal from Lloyd Dyer.
Gartside joined the “Hornets,” now managed by Giuseppe Sannino, last month in a deal similar to that of former ‘Stute midfielder Aaron McEneff had with Tottenham Hotspur before being awarded a professional contract with the Barclays Premiership club.
