GOLF NEWS: FINE OPEN STABLEFORD WIN FOR DUNCAN AT PREHEN

cityofderrygolfclubAlly Duncan (18) carded 43 points to win yesterday’s the Open Stableford at City of Derry Golf Club.

Twenty-two points on the front nine were followed by 21 on the back stretch, ten of which were over the last three hole which included a terrific birdie on the last hole.

Chris Ross (8) rediscovered his delicate touch around the greens to score 41 points for second place and announced proudly “it’s good to be back on the podium.”

Lester Moore (1) had only one bogey in his excellent round of 68 gross which saw him finish third  with 40 points on a count back and best gross overall.

Fourth nett went to Prehen’s Martin Doherty  (20) who also had 40 points despite dropping five shots on two consecutive holes.
