cityofderrygolfclubConor McFadden (22) was in the driver’s seat in winning yesterday’s prestigious Mercedes Benz (NI) sponsored Open Stableford at City of Derry Golf Club – his first ever win at Prehen.

In posting an unbeatable and most impressive 44 points, Conor had no less than four, four pointer holes and two blanks.

Liam McCafferty (22) scored 40 points to finish in second place.

Dropping four shots on the last two holes, he still managed to achieve 22 points on the back nine.

A tie break on 39 points went in Eddie Mitchell’s (14) favour to give him third place over Paul McIntosh (12) who had to settle for fourth.

Lester Moore (1) played steady golf to record the winning gross score of 37 points.
