Students from North West Regional College who started a business have been awarded a top prize by local charity Young Enterprise NI.

The company, named Brand C, was set up by students taking part in the Young Enterprise Start Up Programme. Competing with other companies across Northern Ireland, Brand C was named Company of the Year.

The Start Up Programme helps students turn their knowledge of business theory into practical terms as they develop a marketable product and business plan under the guidance of a Young Enterprise volunteer business adviser.

The company produced a range of personalised gifts and had the opportunity to sell their wares at the Young Enterprise NI Trade Fair held at Foyleside Shopping Centre in January.

Young Enterprise NI is a charity and is principally funded by the Department of Education. For more information, including volunteering and fundraising opportunities please visit www.yeni.co.uk.
