The Derry public has been praised for making the Foyle Search and Research’s (FS&R) latest “bucket appeal” the most successful ever – raising an amazing £22,000 for the local lifesaving charity in just two weeks.
An FSR spokesperson said: “A huge thank you to everyone who donated to us so selflessly during our annual bucket appeal over the last two weeks.
“We are always overwhelmed and humbled by the generosity of the people of this city who support us so well.
“Many thanks to both those of you who dug deep to help us and to the volunteers and friends of foyle search who gave up many hours to collect.”
The appeal took place from Monday, 19 May to Sunday, 31 May, during which volunteers knocked on doors between 6.00pm and 9.00pm each night throughout different areas within the city.
