A man was arrested a quantity of suspected cannabis seized by police in Derry earlier today.

The suspected drugs were found by officers during a planned search of a house in the Galliagh area.

A PSNI spokesperson said a man was arrested for a number offences and a woman is to be reported for offences.

The find comes after local police commander Chief Inspector Jon Burrows appealed to the public to work with police in getting drugs “off the streets.”

Following the latest find, the police spokesperson said: “If you have any information to assist us in removing drugs from your neighbourhood please contact your neighbourhood police team, Crimestoppers or call 101.”
