A new Medical and Dental Education Centre has been officially opened at Altnagelvin Hospital.
Altnagelvin Hospital has a longstanding and proud reputation as a teaching hospital, offering learning opportunities in a wide range of medical specialties.
The hospital currently provides clinical placements to over 250 third and fourth year medical students from Queen’s University, Belfast.
It also hosts over 200 doctors in-training (junior doctors) and provides placements to medical students from around the world.
The new centre is based in the Modular Building and boasts a lecture theatre for 120 people, a four bedded ward for simulation study; two simulation rooms; two seminar rooms; meeting rooms, offices and computer facilities.
