The young boy who was knocked down and killed in Buncrana earlier in the week was Callum Dale.
The 13-year-old died after being struck by a black Opel Minerva car close to his Riverdale home in the Cockhill area at around 10.30pm on Thursday.
His father Peter (51), who was also injured, is being treated Letterkenny General Hospital.
Buncrana Town councillor Ciaran McLaughlin said the whole town had been left “numb with grief” as a result of the tragedy.
He said everyone was praying for the family.
