ARREST WARRANT ISSUED FOR MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT ON WOMAN

A warrant was issued at Derry Magistrates Court this morning for the arrest of man who failed to appear on an assault charge.

Martin Stokes, of Cornshell Fields in the Ballyarnett area of the city, is charged with assaulting a woman in the city on 31 March last year.

Resident Magistrate Barney McElholm issued the arrest warrant after being informed Stokes had not shown up in court.
