Sixteen-year-old Derry school girl Rachael O’Connor is through to the knockout stages of the television talent show “The Voice” after once again impressing Kylie Minogue.

In tonight’s sing-off with Team Kylie partner Amelia O’Connell, from Liverpool – also 16 – Rachael was chosen by the Aussie superstar to go through to the next round.

Tom Jones could not choose between two girls’ duet of JazyZ ft. Justin Timberlake’s Holy Grail, however in making her decision to choose the Drumsurn girl, Kylie said: “Rachael’s voice had that something that spoke to me.”

A delighted Rachael simply said: “It’s crazy to know I am in the knockouts.”

Before tonight’s shjow, Rachael had been installed as favourite to win this year’s series.

Bookies William Hill have her as 5/1 favourite to win ahead of Sophie May Williams, the second favourite at 6/1.
