GREYHOUND RACING: SURFER GENIE ON CREST OF A WAVE AT BRANDYWELL

Surfer Genie and Rascality were the winners of the two feature races at tonight’s greyhound meeting at Brandywell Stadium in Derry tonight.Irish Derby Greyhound Racing 9/9/2006

The Rory Gallagher owned and trained Surfer Genie had two and a half lengths to spare ahead of runner-up Coloured Pop, owned and trained by Mark Duffy, in winning the Bluebell 500 Final.

Rascality, owned and trained by Stephen and David Martin, won the Limewood Sprint Final by half a length from the Seamus McCloskey and Bernard Mullan owned and trained Mineola Prof.

Results from tonight’s eight-card meeting were:

Race 1 (300 yards): 1, Backdoor Jane 5/2; 2, Cals Cash 2/1 fav. Time: 17.28. Distance: 4.5 lengths.

Race 2 (300 yards): 1, Mullan Macks 6/4 fav; 2, Kagawa 5/2. Time: 17.42. Distance: a length.

Race 3 Limewood Sprint Final (300 yards): 1, Rascality 3/1; 2, Mineola Prof 4/5 fav. Time: 17.16. Distance: half a length.

Race 4 (500 yards): 1, Picky Sue 5/2 fav; 2, Counterfit 3/1. Time: 28.34. Distance: 2.5 lengths.

Race 5 Bluebell 500 Final (500 yards): 1, Surfer Genie 5/2; 2, Coloured Pop 2/1 fav. Time: 28.58. Distance: 2.5 lengths.

Race 6 (500 yards): 1, Ballymac Legend 3/1 fav; 2, Personal Fantasy 4/1. Time: 29.12. Distance: .75 length.

Race 7 (525 yards): 1 Kittys Taffy 4/1; 2, Skinny Genes 5/2 fav. Time: 30.05. Distance: 3 lengths.

Race 8 (300 yards): 1, Inishowen Fox 2/1 fav; 2, Eden Scolari 3/1. Time: 17.12. Distance: a length.
