A service of thanksgiving will held today for former City of Derry Rugby Club captain Eddie Huey who died on Friday.
Playing in the No. 8 jersey he captained the club’s senior side in the mid 1970s.
Eddie, late of Ture, played at loose forward while a pupil at Foyle College before going on to turn out for Old Wesley whilst studying in Dublin before returning the banks of the Foyle to play for Derry,.
Today’s service will take place in Waterside Presbyterian Church at 2.00pm.
He is survived by his wife Jill, daughters Kathryn and Claire, son Christopher, brother Stan and sister Hilary.
