The SDLP’s Pat Ramsey was speaking after he was contacted by a family whose car was broken into on Monday night last.

Mr Ramsey described the incidents as “disturbing and alarming.”

He added: “It is an awful shame that these things would happen at anytime during the year but at Christmas it’s a lot worse.

“I would advise and encourage anyone with any information regarding the break ins in the Ardglen and Glen Road areas to make that information available to PSNI or to myself and I will pass it on.”

Mr Ramsey concluded: “The family clearly are very annoyed and distressed about this incident and want to make sure that no other family is targeted and that these criminals are caught.”
