A new £120,000 footway scheme at Altinure Road in Park is due to get underway on Monday next 2 December, Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced.

Work will involve extending footway provision from Monadore Road along Altinure Road for a distance of approximately 500 metres linking the village to a number of community facilities.

The opportunity will also be taken to widen the existing carriageway along this 500metres stretch of Altinure Road and is to be completed by the end of January 2014.

The Minister said: “This scheme to provide a new footway along the Altinure Road will complete the footway link between Park village and a number of community facilities on the Altinure Road. The work will greatly enhance safety for pedestrians, including many children, who use this road on a daily basis.”

The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change on the TrafficWatchNI website at www.trafficwatchni.com

Mr Kennedy said: “Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.”
