GREYHOUND RACING: SANTRO WILL SURPRISE WINNER OF SEAMUS CONWAY MEMORIAL SPRINT

Santro Will was the surprise winner of the Seamus Conway Memorial Sprint at Brandywell tonight.Irish Derby Greyhound Racing 9/9/2006

Owned and trained by Thomas Barry, the 5/1 winner completed the 300 yard course in a time of 17.24 seconds. Farley Jambo, owned and trained by Gavin Donnelly, was a short head behind in second place. The Noel McGarry owned and trained Untangled was the 6/4 favourite.

Results from tonight’s eight-card meeting were:

Race 1 (300 yards): 1, Masada Black 1/1 fav; 2, Farley Rumble 6/4. Time 17.30. Distance: 2 lengths.

Race 2 (300 yards): 1, Eden Jim 4/6 fav; 2, Rough Champion 3/1. Time: 17.22. Distance: 2 lengths.

Race 3 (500 yards): 1, Glenowen Dan 5/4 fav; 2, Armoy Buddy 5/2. Time: 29.00. Distance 3.5 lengths.

Race 4 Seamus Conway Memorial Sprint Final (300 yards): 1, Santro Will 5/1; 2, Farley Jambo 4/1. Favourite: Untangled 6/4. Time: 17.24. Distance: short head.

Race 5 Dan McCann Ulster 500 round one heat two (500 yards): 1, Eden Rex 1/1 fav; 2, Torrent Reel 3/1. Time: 28.64. Distance: 4 lengths.

Race 6 Dan McCann Ulster 500 round one heat three (500 yards): 1, Smurfing Oddball 4/1; 2, Hi Sir Humble 5/2. Favourite: Eden Brae 6/4. Time: 19.10. Distance: 1.75 lengths.

Race 7 50 Club 500 (500 yards): 1, Counterfit 4/7 fav; 2, Finlay’s Hawk 5/4. Time: 28.50. Distance: .5 length.
