POLICE REVISIT SCENE OF COMPLEX ACCIDENT

Police have revisited the scene of an accident in which a 17-year-old was critically injured.

The scene at the accident on Buncrana Road.

The teen sustained serious head injuries when he was struck by a car close to Templemore Sports Complex on the main Derry to Buncrana road shortly after 8.30pm on Monday last.

He was rushed to Altnagelvin before being transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He is currently out of danger.

The police returned to the scene round the same time of  last Monday’s accident in the hoping of obtaining information from motorists who may have been in the area at the time.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or was travelling on the Buncrana Road at the time is asked to contact police   at Strand Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
