Due to the high level of interest the allocation of tickets has been changed to one per person and not two as previously indicate in an effort to afford more young people with a chance to be part of it. Tickets cannot be collected on behalf of their children, siblings or friends.
A spokesperson for the organisers said they were expecting large numbers of young people to be interested in obtaining tickets.
“This is a fantastic event and we are hugely excited about it and believe the young people in the Derry, Strabane and Omagh areas lucky enough to get a ticket will be in for a real treat. November 2 will be jam packed full of music, comedy and dance with showcasing opportunities making it one of the biggest youth events of 2013.”
Details of the headline acts are yet to be finalised but organisers have been working hard putting together an exciting festival programme.
“We will be announcing more details of our Headline Acts over the coming days and we can reassure the young people they will not be disappointed,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson advised those intending to queue for tickets to be there before 10.00am at one of the three ticket venues as tickets will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.
“Once the tickets are gone, that’s it – we won’t have any additional tickets to give out except for one or two in local radio competitions. We would encourage anyone interested in attending the event to come along for tickets this Saturday and to be here early to avoid disappointment. I would also encourage them to co-operate fully with the stewards and to be mindful that we only have a small number of tickets available and will be unable to provide tickets to everyone.”
The organisers have reassured parents that it will be a well supervised, alcohol free event for teenagers.
“We want parents to be reassured that they can drop their teenagers off at The Venue in the knowledge that they will be well supervised and safe throughout the day.”
The event is funded under the European Union Peace III Programme, which is managed for the Special EU Programmes Body and delivered by the NW Peace III Cluster in partnership with the City of Culture 2013.
