Police in Derry are hunting for a man who attacked a woman in the Waterside area in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The PSNI are appealing for witnesses after the woman was assaulted at Lincoln Courts in the Waterside area of the city.
A PSNI spokesperson said the 24-year-old victim was walking through Lincoln Courts at about 2.20am when she was assaulted by a man who tried to steal her handbag but failed.
Although the woman sustained a number of injuries, she did not require hospital treatment.
The police spokesperson appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who knows anything about it is asked to contact police at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000.
