SOMETIMES James McClean can’t do right for doing wrong.
Last night, the Creggan lad helped his West Bromich Albion team snatch a point from the jaws of defeat against Chelsea at Stamfordbridge.
His 86th minute strike from just outside the box earned the Baggies a deserved 2-2 draw against the former Premier league champions.
And while the 24-year-old was celebrating at the end, some fans were left crying in their beer.
Football punters were the worst offenders as some of them had backed a Chelsea home win as part of their accumulator bets.
One guy was particularly ungracious and nasty about McClean’s goal costing him a payout.
Steven Nesbit, who has since made his tweets private, wrote: “Out of everybody to burst ma coupon , that wee Irish rat James McClean has done me for £250 #scumbag.”
Not one to hold a grudge, McClean didn’t rise to the insults in the tweet as he is well used Twitter trolls abusing him.
Instead, he very kindly offered by Tweet: “Want a sub mate?”
Other fans were not so abusive to James.
Kieran Smith tweeted: “Had Chelsea in my acca but if anyone is gonna kill that it has to be McClean absolutely love him
