MEMBERS of the public should note that the Council Household Recycling Centre located on the Pennyburn Industrial Estate will close from this Monday coming, September 14 for four weeks.
The closure will take place to allow for some essential maintenance work to be carried out at the site, and regular users are asked to make use of alternative facilities in the city for the duration of the closure.
A spokesperson for Derry City and Strabane District said: “The Pennyburn Recycling Centre will be undergoing essential work from Monday and we would appreciate it if the public could access our other sites throughout the city over this period.
“Opening hours at the Brandywell Recycling Centre will be extended throughout the four weeks to accommodate additional visitors and meet the general recycling needs of the public.
“I would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and encourage users to avail of the alternative services on offer throughout September.”
The Brandywell Recycling Centre will open from 8 am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6pm on a Saturday and 1-5pm on a Sunday during this period.
Other recycling centres throughout the district include Glendermott Road Recycling Centre, Strathfoyle Recycling Centre, as well as household recycling centres in Strabane, Claudy and Park.
