Sausage roll fans will be rejoicing as popular bakery and hot food chain Greggs is coming to Foyleside in Derry.

The UK chain specialises in savoury products such as baked goods, sausage rolls, sandwiches, as well as coffee and sweet treats.

There are more than 2,000 Greggs in the UK, but Foyleside have confirmed its first outlet in Derry is on the way.

The news was shared on Facebook yesterday, in the form of an email screenshot.

In the email, Greggs said they were contacted by a fan who has had to travel 2 hours to get his hands on the famous sausage rolls.

While no opening date has been set, Foyleside said: “Get ready to welcome the iconic brand and finally get your hands on the sausage rolls, bakes, and pastries you’ve been dreaming of for years!”
