AIRTRICITY PREMIERSHIP: HUTTON TO MAKE CHANGES FOR TRIP TO DUNDALK

With an FAI Cup quarter-final tie this weekend and Derry City out of contention for league honours and safely sitting in mid-table, manager Peter Hutton is expected to make a number of changes to the Candystripes starting line-up for tonight’s Airtricity Premier Division clash against league leaders Dundalk at Oriel Park.

However, Pizza will still field a side he believes capable delivering of an upset against Stephen Kenny’s Lilywhites ahead of Friday’s FAI Cup clash with Drogheda United on Friday next.

Definitely out is in-form striker Michael Duffy who is on international duty with the Northern Ireland Under-21s.

Philip Lowry, Barry McNamee and Ryan McBride, who all carrying slight injuries, could be relegated to the substitutes’ bench.

The sides have met three times this season, with Derry having yet to record a win.

In the league, Dundalk’s comfortable 3-0 at Oriel Park in May was followed by a 2-2 draw in Brandywell in June.

In between, the Lilywhites took away a 2-1 from Brandywell in the EA Sport League Cup in April.

Dundalk will be hoping to strengthen their position at the top of the league table following last Friday night’s 1-0 away defeat to St Patrick’s Athletic.
