A workshop, entitled entitled “Smashing Stereotypes in the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Communities,” will take place in Strabane later this month.
The event, taking place on Thursday, 19 June, from 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm, in the Civic Room at Strabane Library, will be delivered in partnership with Strabane LGBT community and Western Education and Library Board’s (WELB) Youth Service.
It is one of several workshops being delivered by the WELB during Community Relations Week (16 – 22 June) to raise awareness and celebrate the diversity of people living in our shared society.
Gina Gallagher, Strabane LGBT Project Manager said the event would create an opportunity for young people to come together and learn more about the LGBT community whilst asking questions in a “safe and comfortable environment.”
The event is open to young people aged 11-18 years old living in Enniskillen, Omagh and Strabane.
If interested in attending or would like more information contact Rachel Gilmore, WELB Inclusion Youth Worker, telephone 028 8225 0708 or email [email protected].
