The CultureTech Festival, offering something for everyone who is keen to learn, share and celebrate Derry’s relationship with technology, media and music and arts, has got under way in the city.
Throughout the week, over 100 sessions will take place across a broad spectrum of subjects, most of them free.
Encouraging the public to come out and support the festival, city Mayor Martin Reilly said the event was one of the city’s “most forward thinking and ambitious events.”
He added: “I think the CultureTech Festival is one of the most exciting events in the city’s calendar. It has so many great events with interesting speakers and participants to dramatic performances, discussions, exhibitions and screenings. I would encourage the public to take time to go through the programme and come along to some of the many events scheduled throughout the week.”
The Mayor added: “Now in its second year, the CultureTech Festival is aimed at showcasing the best of local and international talent across the creative digital sectors, from gaming to music, animation and digital arts. I am delighted Derry City Council is one of a number of principal funders and look forward to attending some of the events myself this week.”
