Creating a cinematic soundtrack that transports you to another realm, these ladies manage to keep you awed and bemused with their folk-noir troubadour tales, low bowing double bass, four part harmonies, piano, banjo, psychedelic flutes and more.
Just hot off finishing their second album with award-winning producer and engineer Julie McLarnon (Lankum, Yorkston/Thorne/Khan) at Analogue Catalogue Studios, these ladies have honed their trade into something classic, timeless and organically superb.
Wookalily released their debut EP ‘Black Magic Doll’ in 2011. Their song ‘Diamonds and Gold’ gained them a showcase at the prestigious IBMA WOB Festival, Nashville 2012.
They have also recorded for Country Music Hall-of-Famer Dixie Hall’s ‘Pickin’ like a Girl’ compilation in 2013 – the only non-American band to do so.
Their own debut album ‘All the Waiting While’ was released in November 2014.
In 2016 they were scouted by Warner Bros ‘Wall to Wall Productions’ for a BBC4 documentary featuring Midge Ure and Rhod Gilbert.
They have also opened stages for the likes of Martha Wainwright and Bap Kennedy to name a few.
Come along and hear their ‘chillbilly’ roots which has an old-time feel with a young-time appeal!
May the Wook be with you!
