DERRY City and Strabane District Council has started a public consultation process regarding a proposal to name the new pitch at Melvin in Strabane after the late Felix McCrossan.
Members of the public are being encouraged to take part in the online survey that will determine if the new facilities are named in memory of the late Felix McCrossan.
He was a leading local sports figure in the Strabane area, who passed away after a long illness in 2013.
The online survey will ask the public to vote Yes or No in favour of the naming the Melvin 3G pitch to The Felix McCrossan Pitch.
The survey will be available for a 12-week period until 07 September and will be available via the Council website at www.derrystrabane.com/melvin
Members Derry City and Strabane District Council recently voted in favour of the consultation process.
The Council, in an effort to encourage participation in the survey and to create awareness of the consultation process, has placed public notices in the local media and promoted the survey on its social media channels.
Signage encouraging participation in the consultation process will be erected at the Melvin facilities and information will be widely circulated through local parish bulletins and community notice boards.
The results of the consultation process will come before members of the Council’s Health and Communities Committee later in the year for consideration.
Anyone who has any questions or require an alternative response format for the survey is urged to contact [email protected] or call 028 71 253 253 Ext: 4291.
