SINN Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy has welcomed Derry City and Strabane District Council backing of her proposal to explore all avenues to help draw down additional funding for the Foyle Haven project.
Councillor Sandra Duffy said: “Sinn Féin has been involved in ongoing work with others for some time now to ensure that this project is kept open.
“I am pleased that the Council backed my proposal that all avenues are explored to help draw down additional funding to the Foyle Haven.
“Foyle Haven provides a much-needed service in this city in terms of helping those struggling with addiction and homelessness.
“We all need to work collectively to ensure that the long term sustainability is looked at regarding this vital service and also ease the worry of staff employed there.”
