FRIENDS and family are running a charity fundraising event tonight in memory of Lisa Orsi.
Derry-born Lisa (22) was holiday in Indonesia when she fell ill and collapsed following a trek around a volcano
She was subsequently put on a life support machine for almost a month and was surrounded by her family when she passed away.
At the time of her death, Lisa was based in Singapore and was an active member of the Singapore Gaelic Lions club.
A post on a Facebook page says the event will take place this evening in the Waterfoot Hotel, Clooney Road, off the Caw Roundabout.
The even, which is being organised by Christopher Devenney, starts at 8 pm.
“Doors open tomorrow evening from 7PM, it is essential that you bring your ticket with you to gain entry as the event has sold out.
“If you still owe money for your ticket, can you please bring it with you also,” said the Facebook post.
“We have 2 separate raffles taking place, the first being around 9:15 where the smaller donated gifts will be raffled off. The second then being around 11:15 where the larger items will be raffled.
“At the opposite side of the main ball room will be a room set up for the photo booth as well as our auction items.
“With each auction item their will be a sheet of paper where all you have to do is put down your name, bid, maximum bid and telephone number, and the highest bid will win.
“Their will be a minimum bid on each item.
“Again we can’t thank everyone enough for their continued support throughout the past few months, and now can’t wait for tonight for a guaranteed brilliant night!
There will be a number of sports tops up for auctions.
Shirts have been donated by the GAA County Boards of Derry and Mayo.
Ulster Rugby have also donated a signed shirt from the players.
And Derry’s big-hearted James McClean has very kindly donated and signed his Ireland shirt from the Republic of Ireland international game on March 29 this year.
PS: You must bring your ticket to gain entry.
