IN a sombre hands across the divide evening, residents in the Waterside stood in silence this week, lit candles in hand, to remember the five people from Derry who died in Buncrana last Sunday.
The evening was organised by the Caw Nelson drive Action Group, the local residents and Caw Flute Band.
They have been warmly congratulated for turning out on Wednesday night to hold a vigil for the families of the Buncrana tragedy.
It was also organised to remember the families of those who were killed or were left injured in the horrific and brutal attacks in Brussels.
During the evening of quiet reflection, the Caw Flute Band played Abide With Me before a minute’s silence was held to remember all those died in both tragedies.
A book of condolences is open in the Crescent Community Centre and will remain their until Friday, April 1 for anyone to sign. There is also a donation bucket.
