THE lights are back on in six Derry streets after the power was restored.
The streets in the Bogside and Rosemount areas had been plunged into darkness over the weekend.
Sinn Fein councillor Colly Kelly had called on Transport NI to get the lights back on.
He said: “I understand that Transport NI is under pressure to fix lights across the city.
“But this isn’t one or two light outs – this is five streets in a heavily built up area with no street light whatsover”.
Limewood Street,Tryconnell Street ,Beechwood Street, Elmwood Street and Elmwood Road in the Bogside were left without street lights over the weekend.
Grafton Street in the Rosemount area was also left in the dark with residents being told it could take up to six weeks to carry out repairs.
But they have also been fixed.
