MAYOR of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Elisha McCallion, was put through her paces today at the official launch of Hell & Back, one of the most gruelling physical and mental outdoor challenges in the country.
The new Hell & Back Zeus course, which comes north of the border for the first time on May 21, will take over Baronscourt Estate in Newtownstewart offering adrenalin junkies the change to push their endurance skills to the limit.
The 8km route will snake around three spectacular lakes located at Baronscourt’s majestic country manor featuring many of the infamous man-made Hell & Back obstacles.
Mayor McCallion was joined at the launch in St Columb’s Park by Aidan Walsh, General Manager, Hell & Back, Peadar Niland, Managing Director, Hell & Back, Jennifer O’Donnell, Rural Tourism Officer, and Mary Blake, Tourism Officer, Derry City and Strabane District Council.
Participants in the event can run as an individual, part of a team of four, or part of a large group with more than 21 people. To register go to www.hellandback.ie.
