THE Western Trust is advising patients, relatives and staff that refurbishment work to extend the Chemotherapy Day Case area in the Sperrin Suite, Altnagelvin Hospital is now complete.
Speaking about the refurbishment Elizabeth England, Macmillan Lead Nurse/ Cancer Services General Manager said: “This refurbishment marks completion of the first phase of construction work handed over to the Western Trust within the Radiotherapy Project.
“The Chemotherapy Day Case service which was temporarily transferred to the ground floor of the Ward Wing, Tower Block has been returned to the Sperrin Suite. This is a very exciting chapter in the life of the Radiotherapy Unit.”
“We wish to express sincere thanks to all patients, relatives and staff, for their support and patience during the refurbishment work.”
The Western Trust is asking patients, relatives and staff to note that the access route to the Sperrin Suite remains as per the temporary arrangements; through the South Wing entrance.
This access route will remain in place until the work on the Radiotherapy building has been completed.
