A yellow weather warning for snow has been issued for Derry today.
The Met Office said the snow alert came into effect at 7 am this morning.
Forecasters said: “Across northern parts rain is expected to turn to wet snow with two to five centimetres possible above about 150 m.
“And some slushy accumulations possible at lower levels.
Drivers have been urged to slow down and exercise caution on the roads.
Strong winds and heavy rain have been sweeping across Ireland as Storm Cloadgh moves northwards throughout the day.
Some 3,500 homes in the Republic were left without power amid gusts of up to 130km per hour overnight.
